Welcome Mrs. Wherry's Wonderful Whales!
My name is Caitlin Wherry and I am thrilled to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year! This is my third year teaching Kindergarten, but my first year at Newman and in El Paso. I was born and raised in Panama City Beach, Florida (which is on the Northern Gulf Coast, in the Panhandle) and that is also where I began my teaching career after attending Florida State University (go Noles!).
In July of 2014 I relocated to El Paso after marrying my husband who is stationed at Ft. Bliss. I was hired at Newman in August and was able to start feeling at home in Texas when I could come back to school and do what I love. As you have already begun to see, kindergarten is a time of amazing growth for students. Seeing how far the students come from the beginning of the year to the end is the most inspiring feeling you can have as a teacher. I hope that you and your child have enjoyed the first 100+ days and continue work on expanding knowledge at home as we get closer to first grade!
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress in class, please do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. My conference time is from 8:30-9:10 each day and I would be glad to schedule a meeting with you!
